Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

The short version

  • You can read Atomic Intel without an account and without giving us your name.
  • We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and we do not sell your information.
  • If you turn on notifications or join our email list, we keep only what we need for that, and you can stop at any time.

This policy explains how Atomic Intel handles personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as a matter of good practice.

What we collect

WhatWhenWhy
Notification address: a technical address your browser creates so we can send it alerts. It does not include your name, email or phone number. Only if you tap the bell and allow notifications. To send you a short alert when a new brief or a major update is published.
Email address Only if you join the launch list. To email you about Atomic Intel. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Anything you send us, such as an email to report a mistake. When you contact us. To reply and to fix errors.
Basic connection details, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. Every time a page loads. This is handled by our hosting provider. To deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We do not use this to identify or profile you.

What stays on your own device

The app saves a few small settings in your browser so it works smoothly. These include which parts you have already read (for the "new" dots) and whether your browser has allowed the app to keep its saved copy. This never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
  • We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels or third-party analytics.
  • We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

Who helps us run the service

We use a small number of trusted service providers to host the site, store sign-ups and deliver notifications. They handle information only so we can run Atomic Intel. Some of them store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States.

The AI systems that write the brief work only with market data and news. They are never given your personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Notification addresses: until you turn notifications off, or until your browser tells us the address no longer works. We then delete it automatically.
  • Email addresses: until you unsubscribe.
  • Emails you send us: for up to 2 years, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint.
  • Hosting records: for as long as our hosting provider keeps them under its own policy.

Your choices

  • Notifications: tap the bell in the app to turn them off, or turn them off in your browser or phone settings.
  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Access or correction: you can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. We will reply within 30 days.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Notification addresses are stored under a scrambled key, and access to our systems is limited to the people who run Atomic Intel. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Questions or complaints

Email [email protected]. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you first.
