How Atomic Intel works

Last updated 10 October 2026

Atomic Intel is a daily brief on the news that moves the US and Australian share markets. AI does the reading and writing, and every update is checked before it is published.

When it updates

  • Morning brief every weekday, ready before the Australian market opens.
  • Updates through the day when something new and important happens.
  • Weekly review every Saturday, looking back over the week.

Where the information comes from

We use official sources such as central banks and statistics agencies, established market data services, and major news publishers in the US and Australia. Where an official figure exists, we use it.

How it is made

Our AI system reads the day's data and news, works out what mattered most, and explains it in plain English. Scores and dials are calculated the same way every time from market data, so they are consistent from day to day. Atomic Intel is always evolving, and we regularly test, upgrade and fine-tune how these are calculated.

How we check it

Every update goes through several layers of checks before it is published. If something cannot be confirmed, we hold the update back and keep the last checked version up.

When we get it wrong

Mistakes can still happen. When we find one, we fix it and improve our checks so it is less likely to happen again. To report a mistake, email [email protected].

What a person does

A person sets the standards for the brief and reviews anything our checks flag.

Limits

  • Atomic Intel is general information, not advice. See the disclaimer.
  • It covers big-picture market news, not every company or every market.
  • Forecasts and odds are estimates and can be wrong.
